Effective September 20, 2026 · Version 1.0
These terms describe the text messages Commz sends and how to control them. They are part of our Terms of Service and are covered by our Privacy Policy.
What we send
Commz sends text messages for one purpose: account security. If you add a phone number and consent, we may text you:
- One-time verification codes to confirm that the number is yours
- One-time passcodes when you sign in with text-message two-factor authentication
- Account recovery codes, such as a password-reset code, when you have chosen your phone as a recovery contact
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Messages come from a registered US toll-free number and are only sent to United States phone numbers.
Consent
Giving us a phone number is optional. You can create and use a Commz account without one. Consent to receive text messages is collected with its own unchecked checkbox in the app; it is never bundled with acceptance of our Terms or Privacy Policy, and it is not a condition of creating an account or of any purchase. The consent text reads:
By checking this box, you consent to receive one-time passcodes and verification codes from Commz at the number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of creating an account or of any purchase.
We keep a record of when you consented and which version of this wording you saw.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies. You receive one message for each verification, sign-in, or recovery request you make; we do not send scheduled or recurring texts. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan. Commz does not charge for text messages.
Opting out
- Reply STOP to any Commz text message to stop receiving messages. You will receive one final message confirming that you have opted out.
- You can also remove your phone number or turn off text-message two-factor authentication in Settings → Security.
If you opt out while text-message two-factor authentication or phone recovery is enabled, you may be unable to sign in or reset your password by text. Before opting out, enroll another two-factor method (such as an authenticator app) or make sure your email address is verified for recovery. If you lose access to your account, contact support@commz.net.
Getting help
Reply HELP to any Commz text message for help, or contact us at support@commz.net.
Privacy
Phone numbers and text-message consent records are used only to deliver the messages described above and to demonstrate compliance. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared with any third party. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Carriers
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include major US carriers; delivery depends on your carrier and network conditions.
